Meet the Leadership - Brandon Fremion

Name?
Brandon Fremion

Are you married? Any kids?
I have been married to my wife Ellen for about 3 1/2 years. We are
currently excitedly expecting our first kid.

Any hobbies? What do you like to do for fun?
I love watching movies and finding new and interesting music. I play golf (poorly) and raquetball (moderatley ok). I love board games, particularly really long strategy games.

How did you be come a Christian?
I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age. However, it wasn't until high school that I really made the decision to live for Jesus. It was then that I acknowledged Jesus not just as saviour but also as my Lord and king.

How did you get involved with City of Refuge?
Ellen began attending COR when she first moved to Houston to attend medical school. When I moved back after college I began attending with her regularly and we joined soon afterward.

What is your role in the leadership of the church?
I wear a couple hats. I am currently on staff with the church as the College Ministry Director. I also serve as a deacon and as a Refuge Group Leader.

Favorite Scriptures? Why?
"In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:11-12

This scripture pretty much sums up what God has been teaching me over the last couple years. I love the concept of being for the praise of God. I think this really holds the key to alot of our walk and purpose, and I strive to grow every day in understanding how to better praise in all I do.

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self- discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7

I am by nature fairly quiet and reserved. I find this scripture very encouraging to be bold and confident in the spirit that God has given me.

Other thoughts / advice / things you would like to share?
I am really excited to be serving the church as the college ministry director. I consider this work to be one of the greatest gifts God has given me.
